Video: Quarantine in a Hotel
Transcript
It really is almost like a luxury prison.
I’m Jessica. I’m twenty-nine (29) years old, and I’m from North London.
I’ve recently come back from a trip from a red country list, specifically Colombia.
So here I am in the Quarantine Hotel.
So this is my room. It’s not too bad of a size. I’ve got two beds, not sure why. I’ve been using this one.
I traveled on medical grounds, so you have to have the booking of the hotel before you even fly out.
There are quite a few rules. The main ones that you obviously have to abide by are just you not being able to leave your room whatsoever.
Not much of a view.
But, you know, it’s better than no view, I guess.
I can hear the breakfast coming. Won’t be a minute now.
Knock on Door: “Room service.”
Jessica: “Thank you.”
So first meal of the day, breakfast.
Um, it’s a pretty soggy bacon butty. But . . . I guess it’s a bacon butty, nonetheless.
Jessica on Telephone: “Hello, hi. I’m just wondering, I wanted to go out to get a little bit of fresh air.”
Someone will come and pick you up, take you over to the area where you’re allowed to get some fresh air for a specific amount of time.
And then you’re brought back up to the room.
So here we go guys That’s the airport right there, so we’re pretty close by.
It can get pretty lonely. So you do have to come up with ways to entertain yourself.
So I’m back in bed.
I literally go from the bed to the chair . . . from the chair to the bed . . .
That’s my life at the moment.
It gets really closed up and claustrophobic in here.
I wouldn’t recommend anyone flying out. But again, I understand and I realize that the majority of people that are doing it is because they really have to.
