My name is Cuauhtemoc Vargas Gomes. I’m 39 years old and I come from Oaxaca de Juarez.

What do you do for a living?

I drive a tour bus, and also work in a tourism agency. We organize tours to the region’s historic sites.

What does globalization mean to you?

Today you see lots of news reports and commentaries that globalization is causing lots of problems. The major global powers are responsible for many of them.

What worries you?

I worry about the situation in Mexico. We have problems with organized crime. There are gang wars and executions. I worry about my children’s future because they deserve to live in a better and safer world.

What makes you happy?

I like to spend time with foreign tourists because they bring nothing but advantages.

What country would you like to visit?

I’d like to go to Germany because I have good friends there who visit me in Mexico. But I have good German friends in Mexico too.

What do you expect for your future?

For the future I hope people understand each other more, and that conditions improve for everyone.
