The End of the Interview

On behalf of TVlesson.com, my name is Debbie Benami-Rahm. I’m a career expert with DBR Career Services.

Let’s talk about what to ask at the end of an interview. This is really important because it’s the last, final impression that you’re leaving your interviewer with.

There are certain things that you want them to definitely remember about you.

Is There Anything Else?

So a good question to start off with is: “We just had a comprehensive interview here. Is there anything else that you need to know about me that will help you make the hiring decision?”

That’s a really great question and it’s timeless. It’s been asked for years and years and it will probably continue to be.

Showcasing Strengths, Passions, Talents

It let’s the interviewer go through their notes and see if there is anything additional that they do need to know about you.

And it gives you the opportunity to showcase your strengths, passions, and talents, which is of course, the number one way to nail the interview.

Other Questions

Other very good questions to ask, if it is the hiring manager you’re being interviewer with, is

How can I make your job easier?
What can I do to help you reach your goals?
What’s the biggest challenge that you have right now that I would be able to help you with if I were selected for this position?

More Questions

A couple of other really good questions to ask, whether it’s the corporate recruiter, human resources, staffing specialists, or the hiring manager, is

What does success look like in the first six months, in this position, in this company?
How do you measure success and performance for a person in this position?”
And is there anything else that perhaps, that I can do, to let you know how passionately I feel about this position?

If this really is a true match, let them know that.

It’s All About Them

It’s certainly worse to leave the interview and thinking, “Oh, I didn’t say something I wanted to say.”

So let your passion, and let your enthusiasm, and let your confidence of how *you* are able to help *them* come through.

It’s very important to remember, it’s all about THEM.

You know what you can offer, but you want to make sure *they* know what you can offer them, and how you’re going to help them.
