“I think I’ll pay Sandra and Jeffery a visit,” Mrs. Wilkinson told her husband.

When she arrived at their home, she found the front door open. “That’s odd,” she thought.

“Hello! Sandra! Jeffery!”

There was no answer. Mrs. Wilkinson went upstairs to their bedroom. There she found Jeffery, her son-in-law, packing some suitcases.

“Hello Jeff . . . Are you going on a trip?” Mrs. Wilkinson asked.
“I’ve just come back from one”, Jeffery replied, tersely. “No! I’m leaving — for good!”
“You’re leaving?!? But why?”

Jeffery then explained how several days ago he had gone on a camping trip with some colleagues from work. However, after several days, they were caught in a sudden downpour (heavy rainfall), and so decided to cancel it.

Jeffery then texted Sandra, describing what had happened, and that he would be coming home the following day.

“After arriving several hours ago, I went in, opened the bedroom door — and guess what I saw.”
“What?”
“Sandra was in bed — with some stranger!!! Can you believe it?!?

So now it’s all over. I’m going. And I’ll never-ever return!”

Mrs. Wilkinson stood motionless.

Then she told Jeffery to take some deep breaths and calm down.

“There’s something fishy about all this,” Mrs. Wilkinson said. “Sandra would NEVER do anything like that. Wait a minute while talk to her and try to straighten things out.”

And so Mrs. Wilkinson went into the garden where Sandra was.

Moments later, she returned with a big smile on her face.

“See, I told you; there’s a logical explanation. It’s just a simple case of a lack of communication: Sandra said she hadn’t received your message.”
